‘Honey Lingers’ is the second album by Anglo-American alternative rock band Voice of the Beehive. Released in 1991 on London Records, the album earned positive reviews from music critics and was a success on U.S. college radio stations. The album peaked at No. 17 in the UK upon its debut on August 24, 1991, and No. 68 in Australia in July 1992, and was later certified silver in the U.K. for shipments of 60,000 units. The first single, “Monsters & Angels”, became the band’s first entry on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 74. It also was the band’s second top-twenty single in the UK Singles Chart, peaking at No. 17. “Monsters & Angels” peaked at No. 72 on the Australian ARIA singles chart, and was their sole top-ten single on the U.S. Modern Rock Tracks chart, peaking at number 8.

“Something About God” was previously released as a b-side to the single “I Think I Love You” in 1991.
It has been newly remastered and added as a bonus track to this deluxe album reissue.

SOMETHING ABOUT GOD
Written by Tracey Bryn & Mike Jones

Wicked little angels
Whisper wicked little lies
People scream into virtue
While they’re committing all their crimes

It’s the sorrow of the sacred
It’s the raving of the weak
People can’t seem to walk away
When you got them on their knees

[Chorus]
He has been given a face by the faceless
He has been given sight by the blind
He has been given a bad reputation
Save me from these sacred times
Save me from these sacred times

It should unite us, it should enlighten us
It should be something without words
It should be peaceful, it should be private
It should be all you’ve never heard

To think that they think they know the way
And to take the right to pay the fare
To believe that they’re preaching peace
When their fists are punching air

[Chorus]
He’s been given a face by the faceless
He’s been given sight by the blind
He’s been given a bad reputation
Save me from these sacred times
Save me from these sacred times

[Bridge]
Now I lay me down to sleep
Pray the Lord my soul to keep
And if I die before I wake
Tell him they made a mistake

[Chorus]
He has been given a face by the faceless
He has been given sight by the blind
He has been given a bad reputation
Save me from these sacred times
He has been given a face by the faceless
He has been given sight by the blind
He has been given a bad reputation
Save me from these sacred times
Save me from these sacred times
Save me from these sacred times
