Nice bit of indie rock pop I wont think much about again. It does seem a little lost as an album.
Songs are good and has a great feel for a hook and melody but the style is not me. Somehow know they have better in them…were they on a leash?

PUP ‘Who Will Look After the Dogs’
One of those albums that on the 3rd listen I wondered what I saw in it.
On the 9th a lot about it I liked.
Not my usual shade of the indie world.
All a little Pop Punk like Blink 182 or one of those.
But the songs are better. Weenesque.
Gave it an 8.
1. No Hope
Comes in with no prisoners.
Loud but tuneful. Through the noise you hear the pop as well.
It does span the too sides of indie well.
There is The Pixies as well as Green Day.
Solid opener.
8/10
2. Olive Garden
Then we jump straight to pop punk, could be a Sum 41 song.
Think its his voice more than the band.
The guitarist certainly prefers rock.
It really is a Ying and Yang of indie and pop in 2 mins.
Sort of wish they would pick a side.
8/10
3. Concrete
Slowing things down a bit and happy about that.
Best song so far, can hear and enjoy a great melody.
Engaging lyrics with a singalong chorus.
First track to seem to know what it is.
9/10
4. Get Dumber feat. Jeff Rosenstock
The only guest on the album.
Not a track that really stood out to me.
Missing a notable hook and a bit ramshackle.
He does sound like AD Rock tho which is cool.
7/10
5. Hunger For Death
A stand out song for sure, sort of unavoidable.
With that opening line ‘F everyone on this planet, except you’.
Sounds like a hit to me, indie hit anyway.
Like Ween musically…maybe a little more direct than Ween vocally.
Shows they can write a hell of a hit tho.
Yeah, it’s a bit tacky but the band rock on it and shows ambition.
10/10
6. Needed To Hear It
They needed to show some credibility after the hit.
So they come out like Smashing Pumpkins for an intro.
Then back into the skater world that cam before.
Decent hook for the chorus but not the greatest verse.
Didn’t really like the ‘mushroom’ middle 8.
There is a slight tackiness at times to this album.
8/10
7. Paranoid
Feels like a track that goes back to there roots.
A lot more punky in my meaning of the word.
They play it well and feel very comfortable.
A band that obviously knows themselves inside out.
Got a little of the Black Sabbath about the middle 8.
9/10
8. Falling Outta Love
Quite a strange track in this album. In a good way.
Ore indie. Like a Beach Boys cover by the Stone Roses.
Song writing is the strength of this album and this is a good example.
Its not for me so much but I can understand they can put the notes in the right order.
Production is big and ace with the noise of sound.
9/10
9. Hallways
There a little older than they sound.
Obviously not lost the young energy.
With the bonus age gives to song writing.
All very good, didn’t see it as a single tho.
8/10
10. Cruel
First time I’ve spotted on a Major label.
Does make sense, there is a need for a hit.
Its more pop than the first few tracks of the album suggest.
Like its trying to hide it.
Good fun track. Outro guitar is ace.
8/10
11. Best Revenge
More of the same.
Very singalong. Not over exciting.
8/10
12. Shut Up
Good ending and last track.
Everything that came before
8/10
But I wont think much again about this album.
By the last time comes along I’m ready for it to end.
I do feel a little disappointed after 10 listens.
It does seem a little lost as an album.
Songs are good but the style is not me.
An album at odds with itself a little.
For those whose sound it is tho…
8/10
