Galveston, Texas-based psychedelic garage rock band India Tigers in Texas have crafted a mind-bending, fiery and fuzz-heavy signature sound on their appropriately titled new album ‘Dose’. ‘Dose’ is out February 13th on digital platforms through Geodesic Records. Listeners can expect an uncompromising collective musical dedication to spontaneity, connection, and, to quote the iconic Jim Morrison, the ‘will to be weird’.
‘Dose’ is the second full length release from psychedelic garage rockers India Tigers in Texas. If the album feels alive it may have something to do with how it came about. Some of the songs brought into the studio had already been played extensively on the stage and road, and slowly evolved over time, while others came into existence almost spontaneously in the studio. This slow incremental mutation combined with spontaneous development of material gives ‘Dose’ an organic and breathing characteristic flow. Indeed, the album is intended to be experienced holistically with most tracks seamlessly exchanging information and sonic energy. The material itself reflects the band’s varied interests, including topics as diverse as video games, history, and DMT, while also touching on their experiences traveling on the road and the unique nature of their island hometown.
India Tigers in Texas have shared the stage with luminaries of their genre such as Frankie and the Witch Fingers, Death Valley Girls, Acid Mothers Temple, Sugar Candy Mountain, Alex Maas, Christian Bland and the Revelators, Os Mutantes and Bubble Puppy.
The band have released an official music video for “Another Castle” that is adventurous, cheeky and steeped in old school video game culture.
‘Dose’ is available on Splatter Vinyl with beautiful gatefold artwork by Psensibil. Fans can expect to see India Tigers in Texas on tour this summer
