About Lech Janerka:
A radical rockman, not averse to punk and reggae. In 1979, he founded the band Klaus Mitffoch, with whom he recorded an album of the same name – critics, journalists, and listeners agree that it belongs to the most outstanding achievements of Polish rock. Born in 1953, he is a bassist, composer, and lyricist. In 1986, he recorded his first solo album, “Historia podwodna”. He is a unique creator – changing genres, experimenting, not shying away from electronics and industrial sounds, evident on the album “Ur” (1991), and reaching for strong guitar riffs, as demonstrated by Wojciech Seweryn on the album “Bruhaha” (1994). He cares about the high quality of lyrics, often introducing neologisms and alliterations, for which he is sometimes compared to Miron Białoszewski. According to some critics, such “verbal maneuvers” were meant to “outwit” censorship. Many of his songs have made it to the charts: Jezu, jak się cieszę; Konstytucje; Ta zabawa nie jest dla dziewczynek; Niewole; Ramydada; Rower. But Janerka also does not shy away from ballads and mellow sounds. Such a “gentle” album is “Plagiaty” (2005) with compositions from the 70s, for which the lyrics were written contemporarily. This is, so far, the last album of the artist. He occasionally writes music for films and appeared in the cast of two (Głośniej od bomb by Przemysław Wojcieszek and 20.10 by Adam Lewandowski, 2004). He is the recipient of numerous awards, including six Fryderyks in various categories, as well as the Golden Fryderyk for his lifetime achievement.
After nearly two decades of anticipation, the legendary Lech Janerka returns with a new album, “Gipsowy odlew falsyfikatu, (Plaster Cast of Forgery)” which represents a fascinating journey through his characteristic musical world. Released by the Mystic label, the album consists of ten tracks, each offering the artist’s personal perspective on contemporary issues, infused with his remarkable lyrical and compositional talent.
“Gipsowy odlew falsyfikatu (Plaster Cast of Forgery)” is an album that should be listened to at least a few times to fully immerse oneself in the atmosphere of the lyrics and music. Several times, because it’s worth delving into each track.
