Korn (also stylized as KoЯn) is an American rock band from Bakersfield, California, formed in 1993. The band’s current line-up consists of Jonathan Davis, Reginald ‘Fieldy’ Arvizu, James ‘Munky’ Shaffer, Brian ‘Head’ Welch, and Ray Luzier. Korn was the first band to be labeled nu metal. The group debuted in 1994 with the eponymous Korn and has since released a total of eleven studio albums, of which Follow the Leader (1998) was the most commercially successful. The band has sold over thirty-five million records worldwide. Korn’s musical style is a combination of metal, rock, hip hop, groove, and dissonance, with lyrics that revolve around pain and alienation.
