“Having my bandmate in Ellefson – Andy Martongelli – on lead guitar gives a profound significance to this track. It’s a heartfelt tribute to our shared mentor David Ellefson, who wrote this tune along with Mustaine, Friedman & Menza back in the Youthanasia days. At the same time the song offers a glimpse into the heaviness and performance to be expected from Headless in the near future,” shares Walter Cianciusi. He continues, “it’s an obscure song which Megadeth never played live, but I grew up binge listening to this one. It is likely my all-time favorite from the Vic camp. And the lyrics seem to delve into the recent, rather shocking events that have transpired for Headless. People close to the band have proven to be the opposite of what I believed…so I Thought I Knew It All became a commentary to my inner feelings, a caption upon a lost friendship.”
