Things are looking like they’re on the mend for Hatebreed guitarist Wayne Lozinak, who just one week ago went under the knife to have a benign brain tumor removed. That’s always a scary prospect going into it, but one week later it sounds like our guy’s home and doing well after what he described as a “rough” week.

In a post on his Instagram page, Lozinak thanked everyone for their well wishes, as well as those close to him that helped make his first steps into recovery as comfortable as possible.

“Hello everyone! I’m finally home. Last week was rough! But I’m getting better every day. Gonna be a while before I get fully recovered, but it’s going good!

“I want to thank you all for all the messages. I didn’t have my phone in the hospital, so that’s why I didn’t respond. Just started to look over them today. I really appreciate it! Made me feel good!

“I also want to thank @katnacario!!! She stayed with me in the room all week, and contacted people to let them know what was going on. She is the greatest! I love You! My surgical team was great! Big thanks to @kims.living.life for getting me the best care, and checking on me every day! Thanks again, for all the messages! Onward & upward!”

Anyone that’s ever had an extended stay in the hospital knows what it’s like to finally get back home. It’s a wonderful feeling, truth be told.

For those that don’t remember, Lozinak had a craniotomy on August 4. He’d initially been diagnosed with a benign meningioma, or a slow-growing mass in his head that most likely had been around for years. His initial diagnosis took place while Hatebreed was on tour in Europe. After experiencing some troubling, yet mild, symptoms at Download Festival, he underwent a CT scan and MRI in France. It was then that doctors located the tumor and urged him to head back to the states for treatment.
