The fact that you are a western fan of Japanese music (assuming that is what you are), is a sign that you are willing to cross certain musical boundaries and find new experiences.
But are we really open, or just looking for a new flavour of an old comfort?
Is that even a bad thing if true?
Is over analysing music too sterile & somehow missing the point?
If so, what even is the point of reviewing music?
