Fer de Lance – Fires on the Mountainside Review :: Midwestern masters of Epic metal!

Though the music of Fer de Lance may sound like the band has been touched by the sun rays of Mediterranean beaches and also wandered the megalithic ruins of the Acropolis, this quartet oddly enough hails from the streets of Chicago. Fires on the Mountainside is the bands second full-length album and finds Fer de Lance refining their very mature brand of epic heavy metal. Lush melodies and grandiose layers that pile on the triumphant feelings of victory in battle are at the forefront of this album, but does not limit the band who has proven that their caliber of musicianship and songwriting skills are on the cusp of being further realized as they progress. Kellen (Killing for Company) and Alan (Let’s Talk Metal) join forced once again to discuss the inner workings of this mighty album. Join us.
