Coma Beach – The Final Door (Skylight Webzine, Album Review)

“The Final Door” is track #13 (originally a hidden track) from our album “The Scapegoat’s Agony” (1995) as well as track #5 from our EP “Passion/Bliss” (2025). The EP version is slightly shorter than the album version.

“Passion/Bliss” (2025) is the third and final installment in our “Scapegoat Revisited” EP triptych celebrating the 30th anniversary of our debut album “The Scapegoat’s Agony” (1995).

The album title is an allusion to the play “Waiting for Godot” by Irish playwright and novelist Samuel Beckett and points towards the – for the most part – painful and excruciating emotional odyssey of the unnamed antihero.

Synopsis for “The Final Door”:
In his final reckoning with his alleged tormentors, the unnamed antihero paints a vivid picture of some of the trials and tribulations awaiting his long-time abusers in the afterlife.

Prepare for a journey
To a different time
You will look
Into the eyes of the dead
And after your soul
Has left you behind
You’ll pay the price
For all of your debts

You’re going through
What you have done
The sinister might
Of hell has come
You’re going through
What you have done
The sinister might
Of hell has come

We never understood you
But this is over now
You’ll walk over stones
Consisting of blood
You are hopeless cases
Without hope
It’s time for you
To leave us now

You’re going through
What you have done
The sinister might
Of hell has come
You’re going through
What you have done
The sinister might
Of hell has come

In his dark realm
The Devil will torture your mind
Now he’s your new master
And you’ll learn how to fear
He’ll make you feel
Incredible pain
Like a knife through your eyes
Straight into your brain

You’re going through
What you have done
The sinister might
Of hell has come
You’re going through
What you have done
The sinister might
Of hell has come

You’re going through
What you have done
The sinister might
Of hell has come
You’re going through
What you have done
The sinister might
Of hell has come
