Austrian black death metal outfit Belphegor has found a new record label home in Reigning Phoenix Music and as is customary, they’ve released a new track to mark the occasion. This time around, it’s a ripper of a track titled “Sanctus Diaboli Confidimus.”
Speaking of the band’s recent signing to RPM, co-founder Helmuth said it was exciting to be on the extreme music label.
“It’s great to be working with Gerardo Martinez once again. He believed in Belphegor early on and was the one who brought us to North America in 2006. I look forward to a powerful new chapter with RPM.”
For Martinez, the label’s co-founder, the feeling of having Belphegor on the label’s roster is mutual.
“Helmuth, Belphegor and I go back to 2006 and I’m extremely thrilled to be able to continue working with one of the best proponents of Black Death Metal art. Welcome to RPM! Here’s to many more years of great music!”
While the music speaks for itself, Helmuth explained the thought process behing “Sanctus Diaboli Confidimus,” stating that in some way it’s all about — you guessed it — the devil.
“A symbiosis of diabolical Black Death Metal. A glorification of the Devil. A hypnotic anthem of passion, fire and iron discipline. It stands for the absolute freedom to walk your own path, to reign within your own realm.”
