A group of musicians who create a song together through Beyond Music could find themselves re-recording it with Ibrahim Maalouf in Miami next March.

The nonprofit has announced a Grand Prize package for Beyond Music Vol.5 that combines a studio recording, a music video and a festival Jam Session appearance. The winning team will work with Maalouf to develop its submission into the album’s official lead single during a Miami visit in March 2027.

Through Beyond Music’s partnership with Montreux Jazz Festival Miami, the artists will also receive a 30-minute performance slot at one of the festival’s Jam Sessions, alongside Maalouf and special guests. Beyond Music will pay for the Grand Prize experience’s travel, accommodation, recording and video production.

That opportunity is part of a wider open call for original music made across cultures. Twelve collaborations will be chosen for the fifth Beyond Music album, with Maalouf acting as Guest Artist & Curator.

The eleven teams outside the Grand Prize will receive $1,000 per artist for up to six members. Each collaboration’s award is capped at $6,000, to be shared equally when a team has additional members. Those recordings will receive professional mastering and, where required, mixing before joining the lead single on the album.

The call is open to professional musicians across genres, including U.S. artists. To qualify, a team must include at least four registered Beyond Music members from at least two cultural backgrounds. Every submission must feature trumpet, although there is no requirement that the work belong to a particular genre.

Artists can take part in multiple collaborations, and the same team may submit up to six songs. Entries must be previously unreleased and recorded to a professional or semi-professional standard; a commercial studio is not required.

The submission deadline is November 23 at 9 a.m. CET, equivalent to 3 a.m. EST and midnight PST. Participation is free. Artists can review the project details and consult the Conditions of Participation for full eligibility, submission and rights requirements.
