The music video for Miist’s new single “Love Will Show Us Our Way” contains scenes filmed in kitchens, hospitals, classrooms, parks, and busy city sidewalks. None of those locations were staged. Every moment was submitted by someone responding to the artist’s call for real-life acts of kindness.
The project marks the launch of The Love Project, Miist’s creative focus for 2026. The initiative expands her ongoing effort to encourage connection through small daily actions.
Earlier this year the Billboard-charting singer invited listeners around the world to submit short video clips showing everyday moments of compassion. The request produced an overwhelming response, with contributions arriving from multiple continents.
Instead of placing herself at the center of the narrative, Miist chose to build the entire video from those contributions. The result is a patchwork of human gestures that quietly mirror the message of the song.
“Love Will Show Us Our Way” was co-written with Mauro Malavasi, the Italian songwriter and producer whose credits include Andrea Bocelli’s landmark album Romanza. The collaboration highlights Miist’s ongoing exploration of music as a vehicle for emotional reflection.
The song also signals the beginning of a year of new releases. Each upcoming track will continue exploring themes that have shaped Miist’s recent work: courage, forgiveness, resilience, and the human need for connection.
Momentum around this direction grew during Miist’s Smile Project in 2025. That initiative began with the song “Could You Lend Me a Smile,” inspired by the story of a young man in Tokyo who died alone and remained undiscovered for weeks.
What followed was an international collaboration involving artists associated with over 60 GRAMMY wins and nominations. The song appeared in 16 languages and attracted millions of views.
Miist has also carried these ideas into other media. Her podcast Make Me Smile with Miist regularly ranks among the most popular mental health podcasts in the United States. The show blends storytelling, research, and music while encouraging listeners to take small actions that support emotional well-being.
Each episode ends with what she calls a “15-second action.” The prompts are simple: send a message of gratitude, check in with a friend, or acknowledge someone who may feel overlooked.
Those ideas will soon reach readers through a forthcoming book, Make Me Smile with Miist®. The project adapts the podcast’s themes into short chapters that integrate music into the reading experience.
Miist also founded the World Smile Initiative, a nonprofit organization focused on addressing loneliness and social disconnection. One of its tools, the Kindness Kube™, encourages users to practice daily acts of kindness and appreciation.
Her personal story provides context for this approach. Miist experienced abandonment as a child and later survived a life-threatening illness in her twenties. Songwriting began later in life as a way to process those experiences.
That process quickly grew into a body of work exceeding 100 songs. Along the way, Miist became the first native Chinese artist to break into Billboard’s Top 25 Pop/AC chart.
With “Love Will Show Us Our Way,” the artist shifts the spotlight away from herself and toward the people who responded to her invitation. The video stands as a reminder that compassion often appears in small, quiet moments.
