Indie Rock singer songwriter Optacure continues his prolific creative output with a sincere, emotionally charged ballad entitled “Angel”, out now on streaming platforms. This powerful new single finds him collaborating with Ean Aguila, who contributes bass, synth, drums and additional guitars and co-produces as well. The result is a vulnerable, soulful plea layered in dense, multi-layered atmosphere and spiritual weight. “Angel” carries themes of deep human connection and fighting the urge to isolate onself.
“I struggle to exist. It’s very easy to isolate myself and withdraw every time I have a rough patch. The struggle gets harder and every time it comes back, but I seem to always have support in the toughest times. Whether it’s a shoulder to cry on, a random message from an old friend, or just a refreshing conversation with someone, there seems to be signs guiding me to rethink my thought process and regarding my struggles. This is my representation of an angel. It’s not a singular entity. It’s all of the things we get support and love from. There can be an angel in every single one of us, and we can be angels to one another. The important thing is to recognize it, listen/learn from it, and accept the love.”

Artist Biography:
Optacure is an exploration of perspectives through art with music as the main medium. Frequently a collaboration of artists, the project is the solo alias of Edmund Gemelo Jr., currently based in Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia.
Behind the Queensland, Australia-based project is Edmund Jr. Gemelo, a Filipino songwriter whose solo journey began when he moved across the world after years of making music with various bands between 2008 and 2015. The name itself is a contraction of his core mission: searching for a universal perspective through music. This desire to present different viewpoints in order to grow and build wider connections has resulted in a rapidly expanding back catalogue of singles since 2017, proving that his heartfelt sound is finding receptive ears from Australia to South America.
