Aesop Rock ‘Black Hole Superette’
About as consistent a rapper as there is.
To his fans he is a religion if the response to my last review is anything to go by.
There are worse messiahs, at least we know he exists.
Track 1 is a great groove, if not mind blowing.
Not quite the impact of Intergrated Tech Solutions’.
Track 2 ‘Checkers’ is better and will always love his rapping voice.
I put him in the same bracket as Danny Brown who went a bit darker on his last album.
Its better than the last Run the Jewels album tho.
Not the case here, sounds as pop as he ever has. Might be pushing for the next level.
Quite right too, he’s more than capable.
‘Movie Night’ is more like it. First time I’ve heard that quirkiness I love.
Relax a bit as until here was a little disappointed, but that’s up there with best rap song of the year.
We are always spoilt with rap. No other genre is so groundbreaking.
Comparing this with billy woods or Pink Siffue…there is no comparison for me.
But after a shaky start the beats keep hitting and hes still obviously an essential listen.
Its old school, not trying too hard to break down barriers.
Its about being an enjoyable listen which it is. Pretty much constantly.
Its long at over an hour but didn’t really drag and ITS was as well and I wanted more.
I was always going to give this 10 more as I know how he grows on you.
Uncontrollable head bopping ensured.
