Is it even really a solo? Seems more just a lead like added accenting the riff.
Did you guys consider that they CHOSE not to change that note? Why do they have to play a solo and drown out the bass and rhythm guitar? Clearly the lead was not the focus in that moment. (this is aimed more at the comments, not the video itself)

it's not called a "guitar solo" just because it's a guitar being played by one person.

It was literally a pedal tone where a melody would usually be. Pedal tones are usually in the bass, but not always.
Not kidding, even Johann Sebastian Bach occasionally used pedal tones in the higher notes and it was awesome every time.
It’s so cool that, to me at least, it’s exactly what the song wanted. It didn’t need to be anything else.
Some people call these kind of solos anti-solos and I think they are brilliant. I prefer an anti-solo over any overly complicated solo any day of the week

Yeah, playing a Ramones song might be easy, but to downstroke 200 BPM for 90 minutes with barely 4 seconds rest between songs… That takes discipline and practice.
Punk, blues, and rockabilly all have one thing in common. They're music for the people. Music anyone can play. It's not about showing off, it's not about technical proficiency. It's about being real, raw, and home-grown

What guitar player would say that i want to be sedated has a guitar solo at all. Whailing out two notes doesn't mean that was a solo. Its a simple guitar part. And yes it still takes time ad effort to play it.
